Class 2's visit to Newcastle

We walked around Newcastle looking at different parts, we started at the Millennium Bridge where we looked down the River Tyne, from there we walked up to China Town passing lots of interesting landmarks such as the Black Tower, Newcastle's Cathedral, the City Walls, Grey's monument and finally ending up on Northumberland Street to see the fabulous Fenwick's Window.
The children loved to try new dishes from the Chinese, they tried sweet and sour chicken, beef and mushroom, prawn fu young along with sides of rice, noodles and chips.
Two ladies from the Baltic Art Gallery showed us around two of the exhibitions, one was a Play Rebellion which the children used the block to build their own sculptures and the second was Joy Labinjo who painted her family using lots of different colours. We also looked at Animalesque and how we can protect animals in the wild.
